WOLVERINE CLAWS HIS WAY BACK TO THE TOP

The latest in the X-men film series has been a success at the Box Office despite the entire film being leaked on the internet a month before the film’s release.

'X-men Origins: Wolverine' - In Cinemas Now!!

‘X-men Origins: Wolverine', a spinoff of the previous three X-men movies shot right to the top of the charts after the takings from its first weekend. The film starring Hugh Jackman took 6.7 million pounds in its first day, keeping way ahead ‘Hanna Montana: The Movie’ which was the second biggest release. The Walt Disney film with teen actress Miley Cyrus as her famous television personality only managed 2 million pounds on its debut.

An Angry Wolverine still beat Hannah Montana!!

A month before the film’s release, tragedy struck when an almost finished copy of Wolverine was leaked onto the internet. It was estimated to have been downloaded 100,000 times from file sharing websites like ‘Limewire’ and ‘Pirate Bay’. Film studio 20th Century Fox soon confirmed that the copy had been removed and reported to the FBI. Both the FBI and the Motion Picture Association of America were investigating who might have pirated it and have promised to prosecute the culprit/s, but as of yet nobody has been charged.

"It's a serious crime and there's no doubt its very disappointing – I was heartbroken by it" said Wolverine himself Hugh Jackman when asked about the leak. "Obviously people are seeing an unfinished film. It's like a Ferrari without a paint job."

The leaked film which lacks most of its special effects and music left fans fighting their temptations and despite several early reviews of the incomplete film appearing online many still flocked to watch it on the big screen.

‘’I stopped myself from watching at home as it just wouldn’t have been the same as seeing it at the cinema’’ said James Geekish, a lifelong X-men fan , ‘’I’m glad I waited too, it may have not been the best of the series but I certainly enjoyed it’’.

The Movie, which also stars Liev Schreiber and rapper Will.I.Am, still did extremely well in sales and despite not topping the opening weekends of the previous two X-men films a sequel has already been announced. Fox has also confirmed a further three spinoff’s from the X-men franchise, including a spinoff from ‘Wolverine’ featuring the character ‘Deadpool’ as
portrayed in the movie by Ryan Reynolds.
